As the strategic buyer you have the objective to drive QLIFT performance improvement at allocated major suppliers, via development and implementation of cross-PMC Category and Supplier Account Strategies.
In this position you have the following task and responsibilities:
As a category manager you have to drive development of the sourcing strategy and manage all defined actions;
Understand the supply market for allocated categories (supply chain feasibility) and set up and drive the related Category Teams;
Analyze the needs for procurement for the specific categories and advise on QLIFT competitive (out)sourcing performance;
Co-develop the procurement strategies for preferred suppliers together with the Manager Procurement and support management in QLIFT development of categories;
Identify, select and qualify a world-class supplier base that fits best to the specific product family requirements;
Implement the procurement QLIFT strategies at selected suppliers and for the allocated product families;
Develop and maintain strategic supplier account plans, including roadmap alignment, Engineering agreements and commercial arrangements;
Establish and maintain long term agreements whenever this fits within the procurement strategic;
As the Manager of the supplier account team, initiate and manage improvement proposals, so as to continuously drive and measure QLIFT performance improvements in the supply chain, in accordance with the market requirements;
Secure new product market introduction time, volume capacity and flexibility, and agree on investment costs, market conform pricing, lead times and quality roadmaps;
Monitor the delivery of goods and services according to the agreed QLIFT performance and take adequate corrective actions in case of non-conformance. Act as supplier’s representative and mediator in escalation situations.
The Strategic Buyer we are looking for:
Has a bachelor or Master (HBO/WO) level;
Has at least 5 years experience in procurement and/or supply chain management;
Has experience with commodities, experienc with metals is a big plus;
Is fluent in English spoken and written, preferably also German;
Is an inspirational leader of cross-functional teams;
Is process and result orientated;
Is creative and flexible;
Is customer orientated;
Has excellent social and communication skills at all levels;
Has a good business sense and a commercial aptitude;
Is a trustworthy business partner and a negotiator;
Has knowledge of change management and continuous improvement techniques;
Has an analytical, accurate and structured way of working.
